What You Get

Turn New Customers Into an Engaged Audience

  • Send purchases, refunds, and subscription activity directly into Mailchimp so your customer records stay current.

  • Engage buyers when they're most receptive. Launch welcome emails, post-purchase campaigns, cart reminders, and upsell sequences automatically based on their activity.

  • Use purchase and refund data to create audience segments and deliver more relevant campaigns.

  • Eliminate data exports, imports, and list maintenance by keeping Digistore24 and Mailchimp connected automatically.

Before You Start

A Short List of Prep Work

Have these ready before you open the IPN settings and the whole connection will only take about 10 minutes.

  • A Digistore24 account. Don't have one? Sign up free.
  • A Mailchimp account with an active audience.
  • Your Mailchimp API key.
  • The Audience ID for your target Mailchimp audience.
  • A Digistore24 product ready to sell.
How It Works

From Purchase to Email Marketing in Seconds

The integration runs over Digistore24's IPN webhook system. The moment a buyer's payment clears, Digistore24 posts the customer data to Mailchimp, updating your audience and triggering targeted post-purchase sequences.
  1. Step 1

    Order Placed

A buyer completes checkout on your Digistore24 funnel. Digistore24 captures payment and clears the order.

  2. Step 2

    IPN Fires

Digistore24 instantly posts the customer's email, name, and purchase details to Mailchimp via secure IPN.

  3. Step 3

    Mailchimp Updates Audience

Mailchimp adds the new contact to your selected audience, applies any mapped tags or groups, and initiates your automated campaigns.

Setup Guide

Connect Mailchimp in Six Steps

Most integrations only take about 10 minutes to set up once you have your account credentials ready.

  • 1
Open the IPN Settings In your Digistore24 vendor view, head to Settings → Integrations (IPN) and click Add new connection.
  • 2
Pick Mailchimp From the List Choose Mailchimp from the preconfigured systems. Digistore24 already knows the field map, so you just need to plug in the credentials.
  • 3
Drop in Your Mailchimp Credentials Paste in your Mailchimp API key (found under Account → Extras → API Keys in Mailchimp) and click Save to load your lists.
  • 4
Map Your Products to Lists Select the target Mailchimp List and assign specific Tags or Groups for each Digistore24 product. Make sure email, first name, and last name are correctly assigned.
  • 5
Configure Double Opt-In In the Double Opt-In field, select whether to send a confirmation email or add contacts directly as subscribed.
  • 6
Activate, Notify, Save Mark the connection Active, drop in an email address for error alerts, and hit Save. Click Test connection. A green check means you're live.
A Pro Tip

Test With a Low-Volume Product First

Set the scope filter (step 5) to a single low-volume product on day one. Place a test order, confirm the contact lands in Mailchimp with the correct data, and verify any automations fire. Then expand the scope to the rest of your catalog.

Frequently Asked Questions

Digistore24 sends customer email, first name, last name, and purchase details. This allows for audience segmentation and targeted automations.

If configured, a refund event can trigger an update in Mailchimp, allowing you to remove the customer from specific segments or trigger a win-back campaign.

Most (about 90%) of the time it's a typo'd API key or Audience ID. Re-paste the key, confirm the Audience ID is correct in Mailchimp, and try again. The error-notification email you set in step 6 will receive a detailed reason whenever an IPN fails to deliver.
